Current research
External Validation of Two Financial-Forensics Signals Against an AAER-Derived Endpoint
An independent, leakage-controlled external validation of two financial-statement-fraud signals (the Beneish M-Score and the Dechow et al. F-Score) against an SEC AAER-derived misstatement endpoint, on a frozen 897-observation cohort. A full manuscript has been drafted; it has not been submitted to a venue. The honest finding: neither signal showed useful discrimination on this endpoint and population -- reported in full, not smoothed over, because that is what the validation actually showed.
